Disaster Relief-Haiti
Greetings!
|
Hurricanes Gustav, Hanna and Ike hit the Caribbean islands these past few months. It
has been devastating to Haiti. The people have suffered incredible damage: stick
huts were blown away in the winds, children were caught in the rising waters and
found dead, food supplies were cut off from villages due to roads being washed
out and hope for help is in short supply.

As
if all the damage from these hurricanes wasn't enough, 53 cement block houses
that were rebuilt 5 years ago, after a raging fire nearly destroyed the village
of Letant, is now battling a mysterious problem. The lake that was 200 yards
from the little homes has been rising at a very fast pace due to several recent
earthquakes. We received this urgent message from one of GeoBound's missionary
partners, Co-founder of FEED A CHILD HAITI Ministries,
Donna
Bryce:
 "We
just came from Letant [Haiti].
The
lake has risen so much just since 1:00 p.m. this afternoon [October
10, 2008]. The
people are crying and pleading for help. Their clothes and other little
possessions have washed out into the water. Where I walked on dry ground, all
of that is now under water. There are now 32 of the houses under water, instead
of 14! Nobody knows what's causing this!"

Problems
that come with the rising waters are: many diseases that require medicine, a new
location to live and food that is in short supply. There is a desperate need for
help. GeoBound Ministries has partnered with 35-year veteran missionaries, Donna
and Eldon Bryce, (FEED A CHILD HAITI) for several years now. Please,
prayerfully considering giving to help these precious people in their time of
need.
