Coming up for Kids

Palm Sunday

April 17th

This Sunday is Palm Sunday, an upside down kind of day at Grace. We start worship all together and outside. We'll have a lovely parade and then enter the Sanctuary together. Communion comes early in the Palm Sunday liturgy and the Godly Play children and volunteers will be invited to come forward first. They will then leave for the classrooms. Please encourage your children to bring a branch to wave as we start the morning with a celebration.

Holy Week

Maundy Thursday & Good Friday

Holy Week is a rich, and at times challenging experience. As parents, we find it easy to enter the Christmas story with our children. It feels a little less safe to enter into Holy Week. And yet, there is much here for children. Maundy Thursday is a beautiful evening and very appropriate for elementary aged children. We come together for a simple, quiet supper; poetry; song; a chance to care for each other with tenderness. This year we offer a new Good Friday service that brings that difficult story to children in a lovely, gentle way. The Maudy Thursday service begins at 7pm and the Good Friday service for children and families begins at 4pm.

Kids In/Parents Out

April 30th

It's time to sign up for our spring Kids Night on Saturday, April 30^th. Parents, here's your opportunity for some time at home to garden and spring clean, or make a reservation and enjoy an evening out. There'll be outdoor games, gardening, art and dinner for the kids. After a little dessert, we'll wind down with a movie. Drop off is at 5pm and pick up it at 8:30. A small donation to help cover the cost of food and art supplies will be gratefully accepted. To help us plan the right amount of food and supervision, be sure and sign up by emailing Debbie Rimkus.
