Radical Hope for our Challenging Times
Friday, January 28, 7 - 9 pm,
and Saturday, January 29, 9 am - 3 pm
When the news seems bleak, what grounds
and guides our spirits in these troubled times?
On January 28 and 29, Fritz and Vivienne Hull, co-founders of the Whidbey Institute, will be inviting us into a deeper personal spiritual life in the context of the new Universe/Earth story, and the ancient, earth-affirming teachings of the Celtic tradition. Through discussion and reflection, the group will explore how an understanding of the sacredness of all life can be a resource for individual transformation, inspiration, and living open to the Spirit, so that we can give ourselves whole-heartedly to the "great work" of our time
The workshop will begin Friday evening with a reception and talk open to the public. A smaller group will gather Saturday morning and afternoon for workshop time. The Saturday session, limited to 30, requires pre-registration, and will be a Grace-only event. Registration forms will be at a sign-up table in Walker Hall during coffee hour in January. The registration fee of $30 includes lunch.

Authentic Movement Winter Series
Dear Women of Grace,
At the Grace Women's Retreat last Spring we had the pleasure of experiencing Authentic Movement and Witnessing with Lynn and Lee Fuller. I was moved by people's experiences and thoughtful comments afterwards. A number of participants asked that we offer another experience of Authentic Movement at Grace.
Lynn is offering a six-week winter series. This practice of mindful movement provides the tools for calming and focusing. It opens the door to the inner world in a safe and supported way. Lynn has been my teacher in many ways for many years.

Spiritual Discernment Training
January 15, 9 am to 3 pm
Would you like to open your heart and mind to the guiding presence of God through prayerful listening? Would you like to help another person find God in their choice of directions? Grace Church is offering initial training in Spiritual Discernment, Saturday January 15, 9 am to 3 pm. To complete the training you will meet five times with four others to practice.
Spiritual Discernment is a way of sifting through our interior and exterior experiences to discern a call, a direction, or next steps. The purpose of spiritual discernment is to open our hearts and minds to God's presence in life decisions, not necessarily to solve problems. Discernment is an intentional attempt to hear God's call in our life, according to the book Listening Hearts, the guide for discernment training here at Grace Church. If you are interested please contact Beulah Downing >>email@example.com, 780.8008 or consult the brochure about Discernment on the kiosk at Grace for more details.
