Palace Coffee Company

Located in the historic former Palace Hotel, Patrick Burns has taken the once rundown namesake of Palace Coffee Company and restored it to its former glory.

In a corner building on the Canyon square, Patrick and his wife Krystal gutted the first floor of the dilapidated building that last housed a Dollar General. Under sagging acoustic ceiling tiles and laminate flooring, they found and carefully restored the original tin ceiling and wood floors that greeted guests who visited the Palace Hotel in the early 1900s. Warm colors and comfortable seating now welcome customers who come to Palace Coffee to unwind, have a cup of coffee and maybe even listen to a live band on the weekends or watch the famed Barista Throwdown.

Working with SBDC Assistant Director, David Dickerson (a well-known coffee enthusiast himself) Patrick was able to produce financial projections for his own use to help keep the business on-track.

Selling only fair trade coffee that's roasted locally, Palace Coffee is known for having some of the freshest and finest coffee in the Texas Panhandle.
