The Yoga Mat

Four longtime friends Julie Mitchell, Toni Cline, Kathy Dryden and Dawna Muir recently seized the opportunity to bring their knowledge of yoga together into one collective space now known as The Yoga Mat.
Julie Attebury with the SBDC worked with them to ensure they had all of the start-up kinks worked out (Julie's yoga joke!) and ensure that they had a solid partnership agreement.

They now offer the following classes at their studio in Wolflin Square:
  • Hatha -  most widely practiced form of yoga, emphasizes posture, conscious breathing and mental focus
  • Power - transforms the body through strength focused poses
  • Vinyasa - smooth flowing movements that emphasize breathing techniques
  • Prenatal - for moms to be, movements and breathing techniques beneficial for labor and delivery
  • Meditation - this free class is always open to the public
Each Sunday afternoon, the quartet takes turns offering a community class that's open to everyone. Always looking to give back to the community that shows them so much support, they charge only $5 per person for this class and donate the total proceeds to area non-profit groups.

Congratulations to the College of Business
Big news from WTAMU's College of Business. After completing a six year application process, the College of Business has earned coveted accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). "Achievement of AACSB accreditation represents a major milestone for our College of Business and raises the bar for academic excellence at West Texas A&M University," said Dr. J. Patrick O'Brien, University President.

If you're a graduate of WTAMU's College of Business, let us congratulate you on receiving your degree from a business school with the highest accreditation in the world! Less than 5% of business schools worldwide have earned this accreditation and receiving it speaks volumes about the faculty, staff and students at WTAMU.

All six of our staff members are proud College of Business graduates and between us, we hold a total of NINE degrees from WTAMU!
Did you know...
In 1960, brothers Tom and James Monaghan purchased DomiNick's, a small pizza parlor that we now know as Domino's, for under $1k. Shortly afterwards, James traded his half of the business to Tom with the exchange of a Volkswagen Beetle in what he felt was a sound decision. Thirty-eight years later, Tom retired and sold 93% of the company for an easy $1 billion.
