Bio-Klenz, LLC

Brandon Barber

Brandon Barber has taken tragedy and turned it into opportunity. After experiencing the lack of service and compassion provided by other traumatic scene clean up companies after the separate deaths of two close friends, Brandon knew that he could not only provide better service to people in need, but compassionate service.

Rick Palmer with the SBDC worked closely with Brandon to complete his business plan and thanks to Brandon's credentials and diligent research, the start was about as easy as it gets.

Bio-Klenz offers services for everything from crime scene clean up to mold removal and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They work diligently with insurance companies and government agencies to keep clients' out-of-pocket costs as low as possible.

Brandon is both Hazmat and Hazwoper certified and his team is bonded and insured.

While it is their sincerest hope that you never need their services, everyone at Bio-Klenz has made it their mission to help clients by offering their services discreetly and with dignity.

Tax Changes for Small Businesses

Did you know that there have been new tax laws passed for small businesses that just went into effect?

Some of these changes are related to:

  • Healthcare
  • Business Vehicles
  • Property Depreciation

Read more about these changes online at IRS.gov (yes, we know it's a bit dull, but helpful in the long run!).

10 Ways to Screw Up an Ad Campaign
by: Gina Woodward, WT SBDC

It's a new year and you may have exciting new things planned for your business. If new advertising is among your plans, take a moment to stop and think about what not to do!

1. Hire your brother-in-law as marketing director

2. Hire the biggest ad agency in town...when you're the smallest advertiser

3. Do what you've always done...and you'll get what you've always gotten--and no more

4. Handle everything yourself...and you'll be out of business

5. Anything's better than nothing...not

6. I don't, so nobody does

7. I tried it once and it didn't work--I'll never do that again

8. Why bother? I can't outspend my competition

9. Who needs it? I'm the leader

10. I'm doing just fine...I don't need to advertise

Our thanks to Barry Cohen of AdLab Media Communications, LLC for these tips!

Something else to be remembered when starting a new ad campaign is to plan the reason and strategy behind all that you do. Don't blindly decide to begin advertising without clear goals and a path to reach those goals.
