Success Story
High Plains Management
Mike Ramirez
A true success story, Mike was laid off from his job during a mass round of layoffs that struck our area. Instead of looking for employment elsewhere he jumped at the opportunity to open his own business and do something he loved.
Mike's company High Plains Management specializes in green repair and maintenance services for both commercial and residential needs, but they also offer general construction services. Always one to recognize an opportunity to grow, he's gotten involved in the growing wind energy industry in the Texas Panhandle and has extended the company's services to include assistance with the intense process of moving the mammoth pieces of the wind turbines.
The SBDC was able to help Mike with his business plan and financial projections for his own needs. He's a familiar face at the SBDC and drops in to say hello when he's in the area.
The Entrepreneur Alliance (see Feature Article) held its first annual Business Boot Camp last fall and Mike was an attendee of the growth track.
