Success Story
Wise Hearing Solutions

Dr. Diana Wise-McPherson

Diana has spent the majority of her adult life working in the audiology field and has been in Amarillo since 1994. Her experience helped her to know exactly what she would need to open a professional, but personable office and the process of opening a new business was a smooth one thanks to her expertise. She strives to always maintain a personal relationship with her patients and her friendly personality makes it an easy task!

Wise Hearing Solutions provides audiology services from school and industrial screenings to hearing aid fitting. Diana's office includes state of the art equipment to help her provide the testing her patients need, without the big office feel and hassle.

The SBDC was able to help Diana with her financial projections and business plan needed to begin business. Her office is located at 34th & Bell in Puckett Plaza next to the Care Today Clinic and she's done a beautiful job remodeling her offices. Please stop by and tell her hello if you're in the area!

Feature Article

What is it and why do you need it as a business? In short, Twitter is a place to learn, share and what I think is most important, meet new people.

Here are some tips I've learned along the way.

Do:
- Choose a short, easy to remember user name
- Tweet on a regular basis
- Retweet other's posts
- Engage others in conversation

Don't:
- Tweet only about your business. No one wants to follow a robot!
- Be afraid to make friends (or tweeps as they're called!)

Still not convinced? Read on!

After the SBDC retweeted a post made by BusinessWeek looking to interview small business owners, Paula Davis with Canyon Creek Soap Company saw the request and responded. Shortly thereafter she was interviewed by John Tozzi and featured in BusinessWeek's Startup Advice article. She received nationwide, if not worldwide attention and best of all, it was free!

Has this convinced you to try Twitter? I hope so. If all of this Twitter talk is Greek to you or you'd just like some free help with your Twitter account, reply to this email and let me know.

Happy Tweeting!
