Harvester Cleaners

John Locke, Celie Locke
 & David Dickerson

John and Celie approached the SBDC needing assistance with their business plan and financial projections for the bank. David Dickerson with the SBDC, along with Spencer McElhannon of the Entrepreneur Alliance, were able to assist them with their request as well as provide some advice regarding legal structure and marketing.

The Harvester Cleaners building was custom designed for the Locke's needs and was built from the ground up. The business is located just south of the Pampa Regional Medical Center.

If you live in the Pampa area we encourage you to stop by Harvester Cleaners and give them a try!

Choosing a name that's good for your business
by: PJ Pronger, Director, WT SBDC

When deciding what to name your business, here are some considerations which will increase your chances of long-term success.

1. Choose a name which clearly reflects what you sell. While unusual and catchy-sounding names may appeal to you, if you make people guess what you are selling, you're making a mistake.

2. Choose a name that is "internet friendly." If you can have a business name and domain address that are exactly the same, that is the best scenario. If not, try to get them as close to the same as possible.

3. Don't intentionally misspell your name. Misspelling a name makes your business difficult to find with an internet search or in phone book listings.
