| BACK PAIN |
| Back Pain: Acupuncture Is The Best Thing You Can Do
Acupuncture is the best way of alleviating chronic back pain - and it's far better than any conventional treatment.
Twice as many back pain sufferers benefited from acupuncture as those who took a painkiller - and they enjoyed months without pain afterwards.
It's been tested on a group of 1,162 patients who suffered from chronic low back pain for an average of eight years. The group received one of three therapies: acupuncture, which involved 10 sessions, twice a week, sham acupuncture, where the needles were not properly inserted, and conventional therapy, which included drugs, physical therapy and exercise.
After six months, 48 per cent of those in the acupuncture group reported a dramatic reduction in back pain compared with just 20 per cent who were receiving conventional treatments.

| ACUPUNCTURE FOR YOU ACHING HEAD |
|
Acupuncture May Ease Your Aching Head As any chronic sufferer will tell you, migraine headaches can be debilitating, affecting concentration and the ability to perform daily tasks. Fortunately, as recent research suggests, Chinese medicine may help stop migraines in their tracks.
In the March 2008 issue of the journal Headache, Italian researchers published the results of a study that involved 160 migraine patients. Researchers divided study participants into different groups, each of which received one of the following treatment protocols: real acupuncture plus migraine medication, fake acupuncture and migraine medication, and medication alone. Patients were evaluated three and six months after starting treatment.
The researchers found that of all the groups studied, only the group that received real acupuncture showed a significant improvement in terms of migraine disability, both at the three- and six-month follow-up. That should come as encouraging news to anyone worried about the side effects of common pain medications used to combat migraine symptoms.
For headaches of all types - call us at 727-938-9966 today. We can help.

| ACUPUNCTURE FOR FIBROMYALGIA |
ACUPUNCTURE REDUCES SYMPTOMS OF FIBROMYALGIA Evidence suggests acupuncture reduces the symptoms of Fibromyalgia, according to a Mayo Clinic study.
Fibromyalgia is a disorder considered disabling by many, and is characterized by chronic, widespread musculoskeletal pain and symptoms such as fatigue, joint stiffness and sleep disturbance. No cure is known and available treatments are only partially effective.
Mayo's study involved 50 Fibromyalgia patients enrolled in a randomized, controlled trial to determine if acupuncture improved their symptoms. Symptoms of patients who received acupuncture significantly improved compared with the control group, according to the study published in the June issue of Mayo Clinic
Proceedings. "The results of the study convince me there is something more than the placebo effect to acupuncture," says David Martin, M.D., Ph.D., lead author of the acupuncture article and a Mayo Clinic anesthesiologist. "It affirms a lot of clinical impressions that this complementary medical technique is helpful for patients."
Increasingly, patients are interested in pursuing complementary medicine techniques in conjunction with their mainstream medical care, Dr. Martin says. But often, such techniques lack scientific evidence to justify a patient's expense and time.
The study lends credence to patients' belief that nontraditional methods may improve their health. In Mayo's trial, patients who received acupuncture to counter their Fibromyalgia symptoms reported improvement in fatigue and anxiety, among other symptoms. Acupuncture was well tolerated, with minimal side effects.
Dr. Martin says Mayo's study demonstrates that acupuncture is helpful.
Dr. Martin performed the study at Mayo Clinic Rochester with co-authors Ines Berger, M.D.; Christopher Sletten, Ph.D.; and Brent Williams

| My experience in performing thousands of pain treatments often left me wanting a stronger more effective natural pain reliever.
When I couldn't find what I was looking for I developed my own and had them manufactured using the best ingredients and manufacturing process.
These formulas have been so effective that drug detox centers use them to replace pharmaceutical drugs. Patients report excellent results.
