In the last few months, when I have asked business owners and sales professionals what they believe are the reasons that they are not getting the results that they want, I get similar answers. They have told me it's the economy, lack of knowledge,  not enough cash flow, and that their target market is not spending money, just to name a few. While there is an element of truth in all of these answers, I do not believe it's the root cause in most cases.

 

Over the last 10 years, as a business coach, I have found that the phenomenon that I call Failure to Launch is the most common symptom for not achieving extraordinary results. The reason I call Failure to Launch a symptom is that it is. The root cause for Failure to Launch in my experience is always based on a belief. Because beliefs are very personal, the underlying block can be almost anything, but usually connected to a fear.

Lose The Weight You Hate!

If you're worried about the weight you've gained and you find that your clothes are fitting a little more snugly after the holiday season, you are not alone. The average North American gains 8 to 12 pounds over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. 

 

Most people keep the weight they hate. But it doesn't have to be so! Here are some quick tips to help you shed those holiday pounds.

  1. Avoid feeling guilty if you indulge in your favorite food, it's ok just be mindful and try not to repeat more than once every couple of weeks.
  2. Avoid as many of the processed foods as you can. They are high calories and are full of fat and salt.
  3. Use your grill to cook. It is fast and easy to create delicious meal in minutes. Broiling or grilling your meat is a great way to get the protein your body needs, without adding all the calories of frying method.
  4. Keep your carbohydrates down to help increase your weight loss. Cut back on starchy carbohydrates such as pasta, breads and rice, increase your fibrous carbohydrates such fruits and vegetables.
  5. Consider using water and unsweetened grebe tea. Reduce or eliminate sodas, sports drinks and flavored waters altogether as they are high in sugar and calories.
  6. Give yourself a "cheat day" to indulge in your favorite food. If you endlessly deny yourself the foods you love, it will make you aggravated and ultimately sabotage your weight loss efforts. Keep your portions small.
  7. Get some exercise. Even a 20-minute brisk walk once a day will help boost your metabolism and keep you sharp as more blood flow is sent to the brain. If you don't find the time to walk for 20 minutes once a day, break it up into two 10-minute walks. Any exercise will help you move towards your weight loss goal and will keep you out of trouble.
