Greetings!

With summer in full swing, it's sometimes easy to lose momentum in our businesses. I want to encourage each of you to stay fully engaged with your marketing endeavors. I'm getting stories daily from my clients and readers that they are receiving tremendous results from their efforts.

I know you'll enjoy Karen Schatz' article Online Automated Appointment Schedulers Can Save You Time and Earn You Money and I'm excited to introduce you to a new contributor, Eleanor O'Rourke. Eleanor comes to us from London England and will tackle the topic of writer's block. Eleanor will also be joining me on the live MaxLife Q&A Group Coaching call on July 26 to answer your questions on how to get past writer's block.

I am finally able to announce the release of my new book, Into the Night: The Road from Adversity to Triumph. This book is my story of having been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1988 when I was told that I would be dead or in a wheelchair within 10 years. It is also written as a roadmap for anyone dealing with adversity. The testimonials have been very humbling to read. As a reader of MaxLife News, I would like to offer you a special bonus. When you purchase two or more books, you will automatically receive a fr'ee copy of my e-book, Financial Magic. This book deals with the psychological and emotional relationship we have with money and retails for $29.95. For more information, please go to www.MyIntoTheNightBook.com.

Keep your e-mails coming as I love reading your stories!

To Your Success,

Writer's Block: No silver bullet

Eleanor O'Rourkeby Eleanor O'Rourke, Geometry of Behaviour

"Just give me one sentence I can be proud of dammit!"

Writer's block is a curse.

The symptoms of this curse are not pretty.  They include...

Craziness:  Writers don't have status envy or shoe envy - we have sentence envy.  After writing something good, we read something brilliant, then we howl at the moon at the injustice of it all.

Despair:  Creativity seems to walk hand in hand with emotional pain.  We are pregnant with ideas but we lack what it takes to birth them.  This creates a log-jam in the body.  We can blame it on a shortage of skill, resources or adequate drugs, but we suspect it's something else

It is.

Creativity isn't something we do, it's something we are.

We have been defined by our masculine energy for hundreds of years.  This is what society values.  We're all about the doing, focusing and goal setting... so obviously we try to "do" creativity.

Creativity isn't something we get, it's something we have to learn to contain.

Trying to understand the creative process is as ineffective as reading a book about childbirth and thinking we will be able to control things once the labor begins!  Armed with this truth, we can alleviate our suffering by giving up the notion of control, and getting our body good and ready for what is about to happen.  Unfortunately no-one taught us how to contain things.

To be impregnated we have to get better at receiving.  This means:
  1. Being open (and releasing the fear that something bad will happen).
  2. Being centered (holding the dynamic tension between the inspiration above and the pen/pencil/keyboard below).
  3. Being balanced (holding the dynamic tension between the left brain's need for logic and order and the right brain's comfort with random chaos.
To bring our creativity into the world we have to get better at containing.  This means:
  1. We stop killing the ideas before they come to term.  Instead we kill the fear that our ideas will come out ugly and will embarrass us in some way.
  2. We stop trading our creativity for job security or status.  There will never be a convenient time to birth a good idea.
  3. We stop alleviating our discomfort by going into reaction - attempting to control the process.  Creativity happens through us not by us.  We just have to know when to push... and when to breathe.
It may not look like there's much going on - but with commitment and trust, we will one day gaze down at the keyboard and see a small miracle looking back at us.

Online Automated Appointment Schedulers Can Save You Time and Earn You Money

Karen Schatz

by Karen Schatz, Virtually With You

How many times have you spent wasted minutes (possibly hours) going back and forth with emails or phone calls in order to schedule an appointment with a customer or client?  Or how much of your time has been spent manually entering appointments into your calendar - not to mention those times that you've had to re-schedule an appointment?  How much stress and frustration are you currently experiencing with this manual process?

If you can identify with the frustration of managing your appointment calendar manually, then you should consider using an online automated appointment scheduler.  With this kind of system, you log into your scheduling software, choose your dates and times of availability and either send a URL link to your customers or embed a scheduler button on your website so your customers/clients can pick the date and time that works best for them.  To further streamline your time, the appointment can then be automatically entered into your calendar software, if you have chosen a scheduling software that integrates with your calendar.

Think about how amazing it would feel to free up your time so that you can spend it on more important things.  The value that I bring to my clients is showing them how they can automate their businesses so they can free up their time to generate more revenue in the manner they are gifted with.

Here's another fabulous reason to use an automated appointment scheduler ... you can convert your prospects with a "Schedule Now" call-to-action.  By placing a "Schedule Now" button on your website or in your email, your prospects can connect with you or buy your product or service right away - thereby increasing your chances for immediate sales.  With the manual system, you will play phone or email tag and possibly lose your prospect's interest, if too much time has passed.

So how do you go about finding the right automated scheduling system that is a fit for you and your company?  Other than asking for recommendations or searching the web, you'll want to use this Free Buyer's Guide by TimeTrade.  This guide will teach you how to get more sales meetings with less effort - and accelerate leads through the funnel model.
