All Things Pink!

Pink & Black Lampwork Bracelet
Pink. A color so soft it is designated as the "official" color for baby girls...in this country, at least. For all too many of us today, along with the sweet baby girl association, the color pink is recognized as a symbol of strength, courage and hope. Pink also represents compassion and support. Breast cancer, along with other cancers found in women, affects each and every person in a woman's life -- children, husbands, boyfriends, brothers, sisters, moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandmothers, grandfathers and friends...yes, friends. Simply put, cancer is never an individual affair and because of that I believe it is important to help where and when we can.

Red Picasso Jasper and Rhodonite BraceletI also believe that there is power and strength in even the the smallest of actions; so I am partnering with my customers to do what we can do to help where we can. Many of you have long been fans of my Kazuri Collection, which helps women and their families in Africa; and I wanted to add something that helped women on a global and local level in a meaningful way. So, in keeping with my belief about the powerful effect of actions of any size, you'll find an All Things Pink! category on my jewelry site. I love the color pink, so it warms my heart to know that you love it too. It makes me even happier to know that together we can act in a way that will help make a difference in the world. So, for each purchase you make from the All Things Pink! category, a donation will be made to both the Susan G. Komen Foundation (for its global reach) and Kate's Kids 4 the Cure (for its grassroots local reach). You can read more about these two non-profit organizations by clicking here. And, just to get you started, I've included a selection of items from the All Things Pink! collection below. But don't stop here - there is plenty more on the site that I hope you will love, too.
Rose Quartz & Freshwater Pearl Bracelet

Rose Quartz & Freshwater Pearl BraceletSo soft, so feminine yet so "statement." How is it that something that makes me think of wispy cotton candy can look so strong at the same time? Chunky, softly faceted rose quartz nuggets partner with the prettiest of pink petite freshwater pearls and Beautiful (and, yes, that is Beautiful with a capital "B") ivory Czech glass pearls in varying sizes and unusual baroque and glittery rondelle shaped glass beads add to the delight of the rose quartz. I can actually see this on a bride who flies in the face of tradition and adds a whisper pink sash to her gown. I absolutely love mixing it up, don't you? And, yes it is a "sister" necklace in the collection. To learn more about this bracelet click here...
Rhodonite & Vintage Heart Bracelet

Rhodonite & Vintage Heart BraceletThis bracelet, done in this color way, looks so much different than any of the others I've ever done. I am searching for just the right way to describe it. The wire-wrapped beads that dangle from the vintage-inspired antique silver bead caps have a demure but flirty feel - a large vintage Czech glass textured purple heart and a purple flower set the mood. An oval deep pink rhodonite gemstone bead is quite unexpected and lends a bit of mystery to the mix while faceted and baroque-style Czech glass beads complete the look. Now for the "rope" part of this design. That's were I am stumped. Colors include pinks, lavenders, teals, deep purple and grey - most in a matte finish but then a few silver-lined baubles lend a spark. My first thought was Carnivale or Mardi Gras - but the overall look and feel of the design speaks much softer than that. I think this bracelet would have been a favorite in Victorian times - a fav of someone who was a bit daring and wanted to make a statement in color. Bold, yet soft. Rolls on - so it's easy and comfortable and lovely, lovely, lovely. I want to read more...
 Rhodocrosite Bold Bead Bracelet

Rhodocrosite Bold Bead BraceletRhodocrosite is one of my favorite stones. In Tucson, these beads grabbed me -- maybe because their handcut shape reminds me of the much, much, much smaller heishe beads from my early, early, early days of making jewelry. Popped here with silver-lined Japanese glass beads and glittery Czech fire-polished faceted and 10mm rounds, the light catches the veins running through these 1/2" hand cut gemstone beads. The clear form of rhodocrosite is over-the-top expensive and quite rare -- so lucky for me that I prefer the opaque and translucent nature of the gem. The color makes me think of homemade strawberry ice-cream -- you know with no artificial coloring added -- strawberries and cream. Yummy. The stones are not bubblegum pink as they might look in the pix. (Don't mistake this for the other gemstone called rhodonite -- the colors of the two stones are very different.)  Worn alone or layered with other sterling silver link chain or bangle bracelets, it is just beautiful. Soft and girly -- but not "bubble-gum...I'm six" pink. Take me there...
Rose Quartz Sterling Silver Earrings

Rose Quartz Sterling Silver EarringsThe softest of pinks -- these natural (meaning not dyed) rose quartz ovals look lovely with the Swarovski 8mm bicone and 4mm cube Swarovski crystals. Dancing at the bottom of a high-polished shield sterling silver leverback, the drop measures 1 1/2".  Earrings are enlarged in pix to show the detail. So pretty show me more...
Rhodocrosite Bead Sterling Silver Necklace

Rhodocrosite Bold Bead NecklaceThe perfect partner for the rhodocrosite bracelet above. An oversized sterling silver clasp lets you adjust the necklace from 18" to 20" so there is lots of versitility in the styling. This necklace looks fabulous alone; but when you layer it with chains or other softer pastel gemstone beauties, like the prehnite necklace listed on the site, it is stunning in a quiet but statement-making way. Oh boy...now that's my cup of tea -- tell me more...
"Spirit of Pink" Lampwork, Crystal Quartz & Freshwater Pearl Bracelet

Pink Lampwork Glass Bead BraceletThis bracelet is just beautiful. Now if I could just get a photo that does it justice. Sigh. When I put this piece all together the name "Spirit of Pink" just popped into my mind. By now you know that I don't normally name my jewelry designs - but for some reason this just embodied the spirit of all things pink. The rope part of the bracelet is made from a mix of the softest rose-pink Czech glass beads; the one-inch lampwork round puff bead has flashes of pink and purple and is sparked by silver foil. Crystal quartz and freshwater pearl complement the rope and the lampwork bead beautifully. It all comes together with antiqued silver bead caps that have the tiniest of little hearts trailing around them. As you know, I love this style, it simply rolls on.
