| It's Never "Just a Bracelet."
Flourite and Freshwater Pearl Beauty | The way I look at it, if you are going to take the time to put on a piece of jewelry, why not make it something that takes your breath away every time you glance at it? Jewelry of any type is, after all, a work of art...at least in my mind. Art is meant to be admired, studied and touched. Well, unless you are in the Met...where they seriously frown on people touching anything, which actually bugs the you know what out of me. But, I totally understand the thinking behind their "no touch" rule. However...it is still hard for me at times, you see I am a kinesthetic learner; that means I have to touch something to really understand it. So, while I love museums and galleries, I always leave feeling frustrated because I couldn't really touch any thing. I just flashed (no pun intended) on the outdoor statuary scene from the film, "The Wedding Planner." A lesson in why it might not be a good idea to touch some things!
Carnelian Meets Gold Bangles | But back to jewelry, I once told a jewelry designer friend of mine that anyone can string a bunch of beads together; the real challenge comes when you successfully string them together in a way that makes you swoon -- even just for a second. So when I set out to create a new piece -- my goal is to give you something that catches you by surprise, makes you stop and notice each detail and maybe, just maybe, makes you swoon. Such an old-fashioned word; but it just seems to fit how I feel sometimes. I do get caught up in gemstones since I marvel at the idea that the original "rock" can be millions of years old...millions. And, knowing that the stone has been hidden for years and years and then serendipitously finds its way into my hands and then yours, is just utterly and completely magical.
While it all sounds a little dramatic...perhaps you better understand why I think "it is never just a bracelet." For your shopping entertainment I've chosen a few samples from the new web site for you to study; and yes, I said new web site. I thought you would enjoy seeing the range of designs that you have to choose from when shopping with me. As for the brand new site, I do hope you find it much improved -- that was my intent when I set out to do the revamping. I do hope you agree. It's easy to navigate, pretty to look at, and all around makes for a fun way to spend some time shopping around. And, as a reward for those of you who actually read to the end of this tome and as a celebration of sorts, there is a special treat that you can use on your next shopping adventure. Oh goody! |
Patterned Agate Slices and Onyx Bracelet
What a beauty. Large slabs of agate mix it up with three-strands of matte onyx and Czech glass in this stunner. I must say a very sophisticated look for these gemstones. Bold enough to wear alone or layer it with gold bangles or chain jewelry from your own collection. From the Tanya Lochridge Jewelry Trunk Show Collection. Click on the image to learn more. |
| Kazuri Serengeti Bead Bracelet
The Kazuri Serengeti bead in honey, antique bronze and black is set off by two Manyunyu beehive style beads, all with gold. All the beads are just lovely -- in color and design. There are hints of green in the deep bronze of the Serengeti bead and that subtle color plays out in the Czech green givre beads of the design. The Czech fire-polish faceted rounds and rondelles compliment the focal beads in an unexpected way. The design also includes smaller Czech and Japanese glass beads. I love the Florentine finish of the gold-plate oval rolo link chain with the Kazuri beads - it accents them in a soft and beautiful way. From the Tanya Lochridge Jewelry Kazuri Collection. Pink and Black Lampwork Glass Bead Bracelet
I'm loving the pink and black combo -- oh so CoCo and it has long been a fav in the line. Jumbo lampwork beads, Czech and Japanese glass beads mix it up in this bracelet. This design is all about beauty of a different kind, too. A percentage of the retail price will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Kate's Kids 4 the Cure. How nice is that? Starfish and Mother-of-Pearl Bracelet
"I wish they all could be California girls." Classic Beach Boys comes to mind when I think of my youth. Now you can share in the memories with this whimsical ode to all things beachy. Cloisonné rusty-red starfish are partnered with ivory Czech glass pearls and shells in the buff. Small gold-plate shell charms and Czech red glass shells dance along the linked chain. Sometimes a touch of whimsy is just what's needed. Repeat after me, "click on the image to learn more." |
Rainforest-Inspired Flourite Rope Style Bracelet
When I first saw these Japanese glass seed beads, my heart skipped a beat. I know, I know, maybe a bit theatrical...but sometimes that's how it is. The verdant colors of the rainforest popped to mind immediately. Paired with the Czech glass givre green beads and the natural flourite gemstones that dangle as charms -- it's just peaceful and serene. The fact that it just rolls on and off makes it even more so. No hassles -- love that. From the Tanya Lochridge Jewelry Trunkshow Collection. Learn more by clicking on the image. |
Carnelian Jumbo Bead Bracelet
Holy cow -- can you say carnelian gobstoppers? Carnelian comes in a range of colors -- not sure if I have a favorite; but this brick red is close to the top of the list for me. The light dances off the many facets of both the 18mm carnelian rounds and bigger than big glittery Czech glass rondelles. From the Tanya Lochridge Jewelry Trunk Show Collection. So now maybe you understand what I mean when I say, "it's never just a bracelet." The final piece is a mini work of art made up of even smaller works of art. Each little piece has been created by Mother Nature and very talented artisans. More amazing to me is the fact that throughout the process each component gathers the energy of everyone who touched it in some way. And, that's pretty cool.
