But in the best possible way.
 Stranded in a good way? Does that make sense? It does if you're talking about strands and strands of beautiful mixed up gemstone and glass beads. I am loving the fact that the necklace has taken center stage of late. And, we're talking NECKLACE, in a big way. I've shown a few here styled with brooches and ribbons so you can get an idea of the necklaces versatility. If you want a similar look, you can get some ribbon from your local craft or fabric store for a few dollars and tie or weave the ribbon around the strands for the season. The good news, is once the ribbon trend is passé, you are left with jewelry that is elegant and classic that you can wear for years and years and years. So overall, buying quality timeless pieces that can be styled in different ways turns out to be a very good investment. You know, you know...the old "cost per wearing" equation; it works here, that's for sure.
 Necklaces of all shapes and sizes work for me. Well, maybe not the teensy tiny styles...but my version of those do work. Wishy, washy? Maybe, but on the whole, most of the people who wear my designs like their jewelry on the bigger side. They like necklaces that say a bit about who they are and what they enjoy in life. Pietersite, Freshwater Pearl, Czech Glass Sterling Silver Five-Strand Necklace
 If you aren't familiar with pietersite you are in for a treat. Little sparkly rivers of grayish-blue crystals run through various shades of browns and blues. Pietersite is one of just a handful of gemstones in the world that have the characteristic of chatoyancy. All scientific mumble-jumble aside (or is it mumbo-jumbo?) -- I simply love this gemstone. You probably realize by now, for me it all starts with the gemstone. I scour my sources to find the prettiest of stones and then I work to design a piece of jewelry that really showcases each gem. Before it leaves my studio each piece has to make me happy when I see it and when I wear it. In this case, the stones and the finished product are pure heaven. Fire Agate, Smoky Quartz, Czech Glass Five-Strand Torsade Necklace
 Oh my gosh -- the color of this fire agate is so yummy -- makes me think of English toffee. The mottled appearance of the gemstone suggests a hint of animal print. Mixed with the glistening brown of the Czech fire-polished glass beads and large vanilla and caramel colored rondelles, it's just delicious -- a toffee and chocolate confection of sorts. Top-quality textured finish gold-plate links bring the five strands of beads together with the softest of soft microsuede cord. Measures 23" and closes with a lobster clasp. Sardonyx, Czech Glass Five-Strand Sterling Silver Torsade Necklace
 Oh boy - you've got to see this to believe it. Large (10mm x 15mm) faceted polished nuggets of natural sardonyx with subtle white drifts of clouds as the foundation for this adjustable torsade necklace. More proof that it all starts with the gemstones. Layers of the finest Czech glass beads in round, baroque and rondelle shapes dance in and out of the bold sardonyx strand. The glass beads are large - smooth polished and glittery faceted in clear, black with twinkles of gray and silver. Twist it slightly to get the torsade style shown here or keep the layers loose for more of a bib style look. Closing with a sterling silver S-hook and chain, the necklace is adjustable from 16" to 23 ˝". Oh so lovely to look at but even better to wear. Just don't get caught staring at it in the mirror - someone might think you are gazing into your own eyes, making for interesting office gossip.

It's true that all of these designs are built around some of the most incredible gemstone beads I have ever seen; and trust me when I say, I have seen a lot of rocks in my day. Careful...talking about gems here. I always select the best of the find and then design each piece to showcase the gemstones. Most importantly, all of the pieces are comfortable, very wearable, classic, elegant and timeless. So please wear them -- day, evening and night. I feel so sad when pieces sit in a box somewhere waiting for that special event to finally break out. So, dress it up or dress it done -- just dress it.
