Supply Chain Ethics
|
When I ask about workers' hours at my supplier's plant, he shrugs it off and tells me not to worry. He says he isn't breaking any local laws and that he needs to maintain his employees' work schedule in order to remain competitive. What should I do?
Tell him that suppliers hired by your company must adhere to your company's ethical standards, regardless of local laws. Explain that you are keeping records of suppliers' compliance history and that future contracts will be awarded to those companies that meet minimum standards for working conditions.
