MARRIAGE: CAN IT SURVIVE?

Is marriage a dying institution? Half of all first marriages still end in divorce. Second marriages fare even worse, with over 60% of remarried couples ending their marriages in court. So what can we do to keep our partnerships together?
In a study done at Rutgers University, researchers found that married couples can last longer if they do the following:
1. Both partners make the relationship a top priority. Married people actually live longer anyway.
2. A committment to learn and practice relationship building skills. Education and therapy around communication can make the difference, before the wedding and throughout marriage.
3. Education makes a difference. People with higher education have higher rates of marriage and lower rates of divorce.
Tammy Nelson, relationship therapist, says that attending a couples workshop can help strengthen the bond between partners by creating a new language that allows for better communication and more understanding in a marriage. Tantra uses sexual energy for consciousness expansion. The workshop will be divided into three segments:
1. What is Tantra?, The History of Tantra, and The Role of Pleasure in Tantric practice
2. The Chakras and Sexuality, which will include information about the traditional Tantric chakra system that is little known in the West. 3. Introduction to the Kama Marmas or the Tantric Erogenous Zones. An ancient Indian system for building sexual energy and intensifying arousal.
This will be a clothes-on workshop. Some exercises involve touch, but we strive to ensure the safety of all participants and people are always welcome to opt out and observe.
