"My father died a little before I turned 2; my mother died when I just turned 15, and now my sister has cancer. Just a month ago, I wondered who I had left that cared for me. With the President's order of an additional 30,000 troops to Afghanistan, please help us touch the lives of as many heroes as possible. We have the donated snacks, DVDs, CDs, hand-made scarves, Beanie Babies/Webkinz, skin lotion, foot-care ointment, candy, Girl Scout cookies and 50 other items and letters to send, and the volunteers are ready and able to assemble the packages.
Now we just need your generous donation to pay the shipping expenses of $11 per package.

I am 6 ft 2in and 220 lbs of solid professional soldier. A small letter from a child laid me out. I guess I miss my children more than I thought. Every donated dollar is used to pay shipping expenses. Operation Gratitude does not pay for employee salaries or benefits, and does not spend money on advertising, mass mailings or fancy fundraisers. Even all the wonderful and thoughtful items in our care packages are donated by generous and patriotic Corporations, civic groups and individuals.
Your hard-earned dollars will go exactly where you intend them to go: To send a bountiful care package filled with your holiday wishes personally addressed to a Soldier, Sailor, Airman or Marine in a dangerous and too often deadly combat zone.
