A City So Grand by Stephen Puleo
From the author who brought you Dark Tide and The Boston Italians comes a history of Boston. Here are the years of 1850 through 1900, when the Back Bay was created, the Great Fire occurred destroying much of downtown, and when the country's first subway was opened.

| The Last Stand: Custer, Sitting Bull and the Battle of Little Big Horn by Nathaniel Philbrick A clear, readable, in-depth look at the Battle of Little Big Horn and Custer's Last Stand. Throughout, Philbrick beautifully evokes the history and geography of the Great Plains with his characteristic grace and sense of drama. A mesmerizing account of the archetypal story of the American West, one that continues to haunt our collective imagination.

| WAR by Sebastian Junger
Junger turns his brilliant and empathetic eye to the reality of combat--the fear, the honor, and the trust among men in an extreme situation whose survival depends on their absolute commitment to one another. His on-the-ground account follows a single platoon through a 15-month tour of duty in the most dangerous outpost in Afghanistan's Korengal Valley. Through the experiences of these young men at war, he shows what it means to fight, to serve, and to face down mortal danger on a daily basis.

| Paris Under Water: How the City of Light Survived the Great Flood of 1910 by

1 You help support local author programs
We bring authors to the store, library, and your local schools at no charge, supporting authors and encouraging readers.
2 You embrace what makes us uniqueWe choose the books and gift items we carry based on our first-hand knowledge of your needs and your interests. We carry a wider array of products because we look for those unique titles and gift items you won't find elsewhere. By choosing to support locally owned businesses, you're helping to maintain the diversity and distinctive flavor of your community.
3 You nurture our community
We know you, you know us! Locally owned businesses build strong neighborhoods by sustaining communities, linking neighbors, and donating to community causes at more than twice the rate of chains. Spending locally makes sure your tax dollars are put to work right here. Locally owned businesses create more jobs locally and often provide better wages and benefits than chains do.
4 You help the environment
Local stores help to sustain vibrant, compact, walkable town centers, which are essential to reducing sprawl, automobile use, habitat loss, and air and water pollution. Buying from a local business conserves energy and resources in the form of less fuel for transportation and less packaging.
Thank you for supporting your community independent bookstore!
Sincerely,
