Our annual Summer Reading Booklets are here and we have all the books on display. Above are the selections for kids and teens organized by grade in the kids section - adult books are on the table at the front register. Each year we put together a list of our favorite summer reading titles gleaned from the myriad of new books, along with some old favorites. Come on in and peruse our picks. If you are on vacation (hopefully somewhere sunny!) and can't get into the store, visit our website and check out the lists HERE. We will ship to you where you are vacationing, at home or to camp - and domestic shipping for all online orders is FREE! Want an instant download to your computer or e-book? Most of our titles are available as an e-book download. Just click on "See all versions of this title" to find the one right for you. It's summer reading time... enjoy!
We will be open on Saturday, July 4th from 10-6. |

I spend a lot of time in my car driving to work and I love listening to books. It doubles my reading time and I get to try lots of different types of books this way. There are some of my recent "reads" and they just happen to be in our summer reading booklet.
Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann
Fun mystery, the sheep try to solve the mystery of their shepherds murder, with a great Irish setting.
|

The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein
For dog lovers - I enjoyed the dog's view and the details about car racing.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer & Annie Barrows
We all love this book for good reason and this multi cast recording brings it to life beautifully. Highly recommended, 8 hours of pure enjoyment.

It's July and that means it's time to get out in the backyard and have a cookout. Here are some great books with recipes for the grill, from all-American burgers to Southwestern and Italian. The red, white and blue raspberry and blueberry tart on the cover of the Pie and Pastry Bible looked like a perfect choice for an all-American dessert for the 4th. Get grilling!
Jack Daniel's Barbecue Cookbook by Vince Staten
The Burger Meisters by Marcel Desaulniers
Grill Italian by Clifford A. Wright
Picnic! by Edith Stovel
The Minimalist Entertains by Mark Bittman

Take advantage of our expertise - let us help you put together the perfect camp care package for your happy camper! We will help you choose just the right books then add fun journals, stationary, smores kits, camp bandages, and games. Then we will pack it up and ship it straight to your camper. We have markers at the back register so you can even decorate the outside of the box. How cool is that?

- summer reading & workbooks
Workbooks are the perfect way to keep kids from getting behind over the summer - and they're tons of fun! We have a great series of Summer Bridge Workbooks in stock now. Come on in and check them out.
We are your summer reading headquarters! We have most, if not all of the local schools required reading lists with the titles on display. High school selections are in the front of the store, right next to the front register.
We have been nominated for a 2009 Nickelodeon Parents' Pick Award for Best Local Book Store. Vote now through July 15th HERE - and thank you for supporting your local independent bookstore. |

Lunar Sky is a beautiful 4 year-old working dog who came in to shop this afternoon. It is very hard not to pet him! He is so calm, cool, and collected even when a rambunctious younger dog bounced up to him. He was kind enough to pose for his picture, and then shook my hand. He is quite an amazing dog.
