Aeromic Microphones promote Pink Ribbon Day
John Penhallow, MD of Aerobic Microphones Australia, has announced that it will join forces with Trax Music for online sales of a range of Pink Aeromic Pouchbelts to raise money for the Cancer Council's Pink Ribbon Day on 22 October 2010.
Hot Pink Pouchbelts went on sale from 1 September 2010 priced from $30.00 with $5 from each sale being donated to the Pink Ribbon Fund. Aerobic Microphones is also increasing supplies of its Red E*Mic, which is ideal for independent instructors and for teaching more gentle exercise classes such as Aquarobics, Circuits and Yoga-style classes. It costs $297 and the company will be donating $25 to the Pink Ribbon Fund for every one that it sells, in or out of a system package. Penhallow added; 'We believe this is a good prompt for fitness clubs to get on board and also raise money for breast cancer research by holding a weekly 'Wear Something Pink' fitness class in October and collect donations.'
It's straight forward to register with the State Cancer Councils around Australia - go to www.doyourthing.com.au and submit an application, then order some pink ribbon pins to sell to members. Virgin Active in talks with private equity firms over £1bn sale.
Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Active is in early discussions with a handful of private equity groups over a possible £1bn sale of the health & fitness chain.
The UK's second-biggest gym operator, which also operates in Italy, Spain, Portugal, South Africa & Australia, is thought to be exploring a possible sale after being approached by a number of big private equity houses with experience in the leisure sector, including CVC Capital Partners, KKR, Blackstone and Advent.
They would buy into a steadily expanding business, with opportunities to beef up Virgin Active's 71-strong portfolio in the UK, and to step up its expansion abroad.
Virgin Active, which is being advised by GoldmanSachs, has also been considering a flotation on the London stock market for some time, but a float does not appear imminent given the ongoing turbulence in financial markets. Branson had previously looked at floating Virgin Active in 2007 after Virgin Mobile's successful stock market debut, but plans were put on ice because of market volatility.
