Hall Research Launches Multi-Format Video Scaler
 Hall Research has released its most versatile video scaler to-date, the SC-1080H. This multi-input, multi-format scaler includes a variety of common analog and digital audio and video formats. Any of the inputs can be selected for display on a DVI or HDMI compliant LCD. Advanced features such as native display resolution detection, 3-D motion compensation, and X-axis mirroring make it suitable for countless professional applications. The Model SC-1080H features 5 distinct types of video inputs: HDMI/DVI, PC/VGA, YPbPr, S-Video, and Composite Video. All video inputs have corresponding audio inputs. The device provides a digital video output that can display any of the inputs. The output can be scaled to any desired resolution for display on any HDMI or DVI compliant display. Audio inputs include both analog and digital types, while the audio output is digital (S/PDIF) on a separate connector as well as embedded in the HDMI video stream.
High Resolution AV Extension on Twisted-Pair with Digital Skew Correction
 Hall Research releases the URA-SKU, an ultra-compact PC video and audio on twisted-pair (UTP) receiver with built-in RGB skew correction. The device uses 5-stage active equalization and 62 nanoseconds of skew adjustment resulting in a perfect image regardless of the type of UTP or STP cable used. The requirement for using low-skew UTP cables for long runs is a thing of the past. The new URA-SKU can reproduce the original audio and video in real time and with perfect clarity at a distance of 1,000 feet (300m) or more. The receiver supports video resolutions to 1920x1200 at any refresh rate. Both the high-frequency compensation (peaking equalization), and RGB skew alignment are digitally adjusted eliminating the need to tweak pots or set dip-switches.
