Our last FreePromoTips issue covered my frustration with what appeared to be an uncaring customer service team at VIZIO TV. For those who missed it, you can read the story here. I am pleased to share with you that this situation has come to a very favorable conclusion.

This past week I also experienced two different levels of customer service that are worth noting. Incredible caring from Hilton Hotels and shockingly bad support from online backup company Carbonite. These "real world" situations clearly illustrate the good, and the bad in handling customers. We all can learn from what happens in our own lives as consumers and business owners. This is also covered in my VIZIO follow up article. In our businesses, we have the opportunity to define how we want to be perceived.
It's easy to run a business when nothing goes wrong, but when something does go wrong, it is how you handle it that makes a customer for life. Many of us are so busy staying on top of the day-to-day challenges that come our way, we forget about the importance of creating a memorable business experiences and offering value.
