VIZIO TV...a Textbook Illustration of Uncaring Customer Service!

The best business lessons are often learned from real life experiences. In this issue I share one of my own experiences, opening a discussion on what type of customer service defines the brand image of a company.
Below is an account of my recent experience with VIZIO TV that explains why I will never buy another VIZIO product. There is a great business lesson here as we share how industry supplier SnugZ has created Raving Fans through out of the box thinking and amazing customer service.
I have found VIZIO to be a company that is not sensitive to their customers needs. At least in my situation, they are unable to think outside the box in order to have a satisfied customer. At their cost of somewhere in the $100.00 range, Vizio has lost me as a customer, which is no big deal. BUT...I get to share the story to the 1000's of people I reach through PromoTips, social media and my Promo Marketing writing.
This leads to another interesting topic...the power the consumer has to share their opinion. I love the "United Breaks Guitars" story. For those not familiar with what happened, United Airlines broke a musicians $3500.00 Taylor guitar, leading to a classic business tale of bad customer service, the power of social media, a video with over 10 MILLION views and a musician turned business motivational speaker. A Story of Uncaring Customer Service and the Power We Have as Consumers

Many business success stories are built on uncompromising customer satisfaction. The fast growing VIZIO TV Company has built their business by selling low-cost, flat panel, HD TV's in a rapidly growing market.
They have created a name for themselves offering lower prices while competing with more established quality brands. VIZIO has won a number of prestigious titles and earned rave reviews. That's good for them, but through my recent encounters trying to resolve a problem with a defective product, I have come to realize that offering customer satisfaction is not something VIZIO is likely to win an award for.
Full disclosure, I've had a bad experience and while it wasn't resolved favorably with VIZIO, it was made right by Costo and it makes for an interesting business story that we can learn from.
