What Will You Do to Grow Your Business in 2011?
As 2010 comes to a close, it's a great time to reflect on the past and plan for the future. In our last two FreePromoTips e-newsletters we asked the question: Is business as we know it over? We received a variety of responses and stimulated an interesting discussion. If you missed those issues, you can find them in our e-newsletter archive section of FreePromoTips.com.
Where does this leave us you might ask? I believe it provides us with a tremendous opportunity! While I shared one of many personal stories of lost product business, what I didn't share is how exciting changing my business model has been. My personal feeling is that those who have focused on simply selling products will be challenged in this "new economy."
Learning new skills and stretching outside your comfort zone may be frightening, but what options do you have? Keeping things status quo will not position you for growth in 2011 and beyond. In this issue, we feature an article on coaching from industry leader Paul Kiewiet, MAS, one of the most motivational people I know. The article addresses the value of coaching.
There are other steps you can take to support your business growth. While you may perceive The PPAI Expo to be just another trade show...it's not. We promote attendance at The PPAI Expo because we truly believe in it. Not only does it enable you to see more products and become aware of beneficial services on the show floor, there are a variety of education opportunities you won't find anywhere else. Most classes are free and you will come away better equipped to build your business. Click here for a two-minute video of comments from those who benefited from Education Day 2010 at the PPAI Expo. I love one statement from an attendee, "I'm glad my competitors weren't there, because they won't know how to do that!"
Make it a great day!

Building Your Business in 2011...
| As I mentioned in my opening comments, I'm passionate about attending The PPAI Expo. In addition to seeing what's new in products and services, along with great education sessions, you have the opportunity make connections that can have a profound effect on your personal and professional development.
Many years ago, when the Expo was in Dallas, I met someone in an education session who invited me into an online networking group that truly changed my life. I can honestly say that I would never be where I am personally and professionally had I not met these amazing people. To this day lasting relationships have been made as we help each other and discuss industry challenges. Here is an inside peek to my industry groups early morning meeting at this the 2010 Expo. About halfway through this video is an interview with Pete Gleason. This sums up the value of getting connected in this industry.

My encouragement is to get away from your office and make the investment to attend The PPAI Expo! Click here for more information!

A Coach Takes You Places!

Why do successful people hire a coach? I mean, come on, the best cyclist the world has ever known hired a coach?
Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods (referring to his golf coaches here - insert your own joke), CEO's, world-class musicians - yes, they all hire coaches and consider them the best investment they can make and most credit their coaches for their own success.
You may have read some of the books by Harvey Mackay, (Swim with the Sharks, Beware the Naked Man) internationally renowned speaker, author, businessman. Mackay has a business coach, a speaking coach, a writing coach, a life coach and a golf coach. This ultra successful man has over twelve personal coaches. Why? Because he's realized how much more he can accomplish and how much better he can perform with the aid of a good coach.
