Aye...the Luck of the Irish!
|
I confess that I'm not too big on the Irish luck thing. I'm not a big fan of green and I really hate that the Celtics beat my Lakers in the Finals. They have that Irish thing going on.
While it's true some people may get "lucky" and stumble into business opportunities, for most of us, success comes through hard work and diligence. It's evident that we are going through some "interesting" economic times and it will take more than luck to prosper in this season.
In honor of St. Patrick's Day we are dedicating this issue to our new contributor, Charles Duggan II, MAS. Charles is a good Irishman who has much to share with the FreePromoTips Community.
Many may not know that Charles is quite an athlete. Through the years, I've seen him get stronger physically and become increasingly more passionate to help distributors strengthen their business. Charles gets "it."
We are pleased to launch our new Ironman Sales Training Blog. In this blog, Charles will share personal insights into how his physical training ties to successful sales training. We will all benefit from the content he will be sharing, so we invite you to follow his postings.
The Luck of the Irish is Your Gain! On Wednesday, March 17th don't miss out on Charles's Duggan's FREE Saint Patrick's Day Webinar...and take advantage of a sales-generating FREE offer...that is exclusive to our FreePromoTips Community.
Having a successful business is NOT about luck! It's about taking advantage of the opportunities that are presented to you. We invite you to take advantage of this FREE opportunity to better your business...brought to you FREE from your friends at FreePromoTips!

The Art of Winning - Luck of the Irish
|
By Charles G. Duggan II, MAS and my mentor Jack Piper
"I consider myself to be VERY LUCKY" by Seneca A Roman Philosophers definition.
"Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity."
It helps being IRISH too.
Lou Holtz, former coach of Notre Dame football team has abided by one princely ideal: " Show me anyone who is successful and I'll show you someone who has overcome adversity."
His philosophy was and is very simple. If you refuse to do it his way
and work with him, he doesn't change the lesson, just the students. Winning
means admitting to the world that you want to win, and then it's
working so hard to meet your goal that you give yourself no excuse to
lose. There are five elements essential to winning. Attitude, performance, teamwork, competition and goals. All elements are interrelated.
Phase One: Attitude 1. Make the commitment.
Although
making a commitment can be a thoughtful and well-studied process, at a
certain point you begin to see that now is the time. You can see a goal very clearly. You want to focus everything you've got on reaching that goal. Once the commitment is made, the other decisions become easier. A lot of other things begin to make sense. You become focused, your time becomes more purposeful; you rally people to your cause; you get surprise pay offs.
...For the rest of the story follow my IRONMAN Sales Training Blog. This blog will explore how the sales game and physical training are very similar.
