Are You Threatened by Low-Ball Pricing and Factories Selling Direct

In the past, online companies have never threatened me because we bring creativity and value to the client relationship. That was the past. Fast forward to The New Paradigm in 2010.
I have a good client that WANT'S to buy 2000 flash drives from us. He sent me a flyer they received from a company that sells these drives around my cost...even with my company's preferred pricing. I'll get the business, because of some other things I bring to the table...but this was quite eye-opening for me.
Relationships and creativity still bring value to savvy clients who appreciate these benefits. With today's economic pressures however, I believe that some business will be lost to online companies that are either direct sellers or suppliers selling direct. I've lost business to low-ball online sellers and I suspect you have too.

How does this relate to our industry? Some buyers are content to look online, click and buy. That may be fine for commodities, which is a key part of what we do, but others want to touch and see what they are buying. Others still want to work with a professional who can give them a vision of what their promotion will look like. We can easily get virtual samples, offer creative services and create an experience of how a promotion can work for the client.

Do You Want Your Life to be BETTER?

Yes, it's certainly different out there. Business is no longer "as usual." So it makes sense that we have to change our strategies to be successful and get wealthy in today's economic environment.
There isn't anyone reading this that doesn't want his or her life to be better, yet we wake up every day, do exactly what we did yesterday, and wonder why our lives aren't better.
It's time to start changing the way you do business, the way you think about doing business. Anything you offer is readily available on the internet. Budgets are being slashed, and rightfully so. It's no longer your job to sell anything to anyone. Anyone can find any "thing" by themselves without much effort.
Remember, you do not sell "things." If you think you're in the business of selling imprinted products, then you don't understand your own job. Imprinted products are just an excuse...an excuse to get an appointment in front of your clients so that you can show them how creative you are, how smart you are. After all, what you're really selling is your BRAIN!
