Things Aren't So Bad. If You Can Write a Check... You are Doing Better than the State of California!

OK...I jest...sort of. At the time I wrote this PromoTip, lawmakers in my great State of California have been falling asleep attempting to resolve the budget crisis, which has positioned them to be unable to write checks. Of course the solution is painful. There are all kinds of new taxes proposed, programs to be killed and jobs that will be lost.
Why didn't the State see this coming? Why didn't the automakers see their shortfall coming? Why didn't the country see what was happening? Well...those are questions for someone else to address. PromoTips is not a political communication vehicle, but it is a resource program that touches on business issues for those that are in the custom imprinted products industry.
We are in interesting time for sure, but many that I talk to around the country are upbeat and their sales reflect it. Recently, we have covered articles like Things You May Not Hear on the Way to the Recession and There are Two Ways to Deal With a Recession. If you missed these positive articles I encourage you to check them out along with past PPAI Chairman Paul Kiewiet's video on this being the Golden Age of Promotional Products.
In this issue, we feature an outstanding piece that was published in Corporate Logo Magazine. This article offers 14 tangible Tips to thrive in a down economy.
Happy business building!
