What's Good for Your Business? Share The Love!

As we approach Valentine's Day, which traditionally is not a business focused holiday, I felt it would be worthwhile to touch on sharing the love. It's an important topic.
We are certainly in an interesting economic season. Whether you are excited about 2009 or apprehensive about what's going on in the marketplace, one thing remains consistent...the love we have to share. OK...some may say, what love? I hate everyone! If that's you, this PromoTip is not for you. Just delete it and move on with the rest of your day.
Last week, I took the time to take my 12 year old son to see 3 rock bands in a tiny town located in the mountains about 2 1/2 hours away. You probably wouldn't know these groups; Capitol Lights, A Rotterdam November and Philmont. As an old guy "hack" drummer, I actually enjoyed the show. I wanted to make it a special time with my son, so we spent the night in a hotel, making it a fun father/son get away. As hard as I work, I feel it's important to take the time and share the love with my son.
Sometime ago we did a PromoTip on being a workaholic. It includes a fun little quiz you can take to see if you are in fact a workaholic. Click here for this see this interesting article. As always, your comments are welcomed! Other previous articles that work well with the share the love theme are; The Mayonnaise Jar and the Two Cups of Coffee and Take Another Woman to Dinner. We invite you to enjoy these though provoking stories.
In this issue, we feature powerful words you can use to make your customers feel loved. Share the love today and pass this along to friends, family and business colleagues!

10 Important Phrases to Show Customers Love!
Excerpted from Customer Love Customer Love: Great Stories About Great Service by Mac Anderson, founder of Simple Truths. These 10 phrases are an illuminating reminder of how uncomplicated it is to make customers feel loved. People don't care how much you know, (or what you sell, or what type of service you provide) until they know how much you care!
The 10 most important words: "I apologize for our mistake. Let me make it right." When something goes wrong, most people just want to be heard and acknowledged. So listen, apologize, and then ask what you can do to make it right.
The 9 most important words: "Thank you for your business. Please come back again." Repeat customers cost less than new customers and are often more loyal.
The 8 most important words: "I'm not sure, but I will find out." It's OK if you don't know the answer; it's not ok to make the customer keep searching for it. That's your job.
