Tall Ship Sale and our new Blog page.
Greetings!

I've always been fond of the saying "Wooden Ships and Iron Men" which wonderfully describes the tall ships of the past, and present. We recently expanded our Tall Ship Model offering. To celebrate, I have special sale pricing on two famous in-stock tall ship models -the USS Constitution and HMS Bounty.

We have a new SD Model Makers Blog page. Bookmark the page or subscribe to the news for regular updates on recently completed models, naval history, company news, and more.

Attention Boat Builders: NOW is the time to order for the fall boat shows - Annapolis, Fort Lauderdale and New Orleans. See you there!

It's only August, but the holiday gift season is just around the corner. If you are considering giving or getting a model for a gift, orders placed by mid-September are guaranteed to be delivered before December 20th.

Smooth Sailing,

Captain Brad

 Customer Spotlight

Less than twenty percent of our customers order display cases for their models.  Occasionaly I"m asked "Should I order a display case?"  I'll offer three good reasons:

1) It prevents dust accumulation on the model. In a article below, I'll cover how to dust your model.

2) It keeps fingers off of your model.  I'm not sure exactly what it is, but models are "finger magnets." Almost everyone, when looking at your model will poke a finger at some feature on the model.

3) Everyone agrees that adding a display case instantly adds a "museum like" quality to the model display.

Display cases can be ordered with your model order, or at anytime after the model has been delivered. Visit the Display Case page of our website for sizes and pricing.

Below are examples of our models and display cases in some recenlty completed models.
