Dear Friend, I would like to take some special time to write to you and share with you some things from the heart. First of all; if you read this, you might already be involved with the work we do around the globe - or not. At any rate; you have arrived here, at our Operation Blessing Europe website - and your are so welcome! It is a privilege to share stories with you of people who have been changed by the work we do all around the world. It is a privilege to get to know you, too! As you are well aware, Operation Blessing is involved in many projects worldwide, providing emergency and long-lasting relief to people in need. Our office in the United Kingdom is promoting the work we do globally in order to raise funds for all the projects we are involved with. To find out more about the projects we do and the regions we are operative in - visit our project and location pages on this website. We do not benefit projects. We benefit people. Real people who have been affected by issues that are beyond their control. Issues such as disasters, war, famine, disease, poverty and poor governmental decisions. Each person has his or her story - and it fills my heart each time I hear about the conditions and circumstances people are living in. A person, for example, like Lekini, from Kenya. Abandoned by his mother at a tender age, Lekini never received proper nutrition or care. At the age of three, he was severely emaciated, weighing only 17 pounds. Little Lekini's name means "small and weak." And it was a fitting name.
When Operation Blessing teams found Lekini, he was malnourished, covered in flies and so hungry that he was eating dirt. They immediately brought him food and vitamins, and took him to a local hospital where he received urgent medical care. Today, thanks to the help of partners like you, Lekini is thriving. He has nutritious food to eat, proper medical care, and he even started preschool.
He is doing so well that the name Lekini no longer fits him. Now he is called Baraka, meaning "blessing." "It truly is a blessing that he has survived," said Hellen Omae, OB Kenya staff. The story of Lekini has truly touched my heart - and the hearts of so many Operation Blessing partners all over the world. Thanks to your regular support, we are able to help children like Lekini and give them a hope and a future. Thank you for your support to Operation Blessing! We cannot thank you enough - thank you for being a blessing and living out your faith in such a practical way. Keep an eye out for our February newsletter!
