Greetings!
As always there seems to be too much going on to know where to start. Hopefully Norman can help us keep things under control, so let's begin by welcoming Norman L. Rubenstein to JournalStone as our new Senior Editor. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the literary world. For more details read the announcement below. I can't adequately express how happy we are to have somebody of his caliber think enough of JS to join our team. Welcome Norm!
I'm also excited to welcome the likes of Joseph Nassise, Jonathan Maberry and Benjamin Kane Ethridge, who will be joining JS alumns Anne C. Petty and Brett J. Talley in a shared world anthology, Limbus. This will be a book to remember in 2012 so get prepared. How can you go wrong with this all-star cast.
We also signed Benjamin Kane Ethridge to a three book contract and Joseph Nassise to a single book contract. Our cast of authors is growing with some well known household names in the horror field. Please welcome them into the fold as we continue to expand our presence with some high quality offerings.
If you haven't heard we have also finalized our 2012 writing contest. We struggled till the end with the stiff competition and ended up with a tie for first place. Congratulations to Patrick Freivald and Douglas Wynne for their grand prize. They were both rewarded with a three book contract and we are looking forward to working with them for several years to come.
Hopefully our 2012 winners will share the success afforded Brett J. Tally. His yet to be published 2nd novel, The Void, received an amazing review in Publishers Weekly. If you are a subscriber open your May 30th issue and turn to the Science Fiction/Horror section. July is approaching quickly so keep your eye out for the release. The Void is also scheduled for a review in the July edition of Library Journal. This book is racking up some great endorsements. Remember if you visit our website we sometimes offer pre-sales of books. You might find a copy of Brett's book on sale before we hit the July release date.
If you are heading to BEA or ALA please let us know. I would love to stop by and say hello. We don't have a booth but we are sponsoring Library Journal's Day of Dialogue at BEA and Library Journal's Movers and Shakers at ALA. We hope to meet as many librarians as possible so don't be shy. If you are curious about JS feel free to ask us any questions you would like. Brett J. Talley and JG Faherty will be on hand to sign autographs at BEA and Benjamin Kane Ethridge will be attending ALA as JS representatives.
2012 continues to be an incredible year for JS and 2013 is already shaping up with some great authors. Take a look at our 2012/2013 publishing schedule for some of our upcoming releases.
Thanks everyone and we hope to see you at BEA and ALA this month.

JournalStone Publishing is pleased to announce our partnership with Cycatrix Press on a new publishing venture, [Nam3less] Magazine, a biannual (twice yearly), perfect-bound, 6"x9" magazine. It will be printed in limited quantities in the Spring and Fall of each year. Along with each print issue there will also be a simultaneous (or nearly so) electronic edition.
The material in [Nam3less] Magazine is wide-ranging. Each issue will vary as to the theme, but all issues will provide fascinating commentary on topical subjects, politics, science, criticism, philosophy, and reviews of current media.
The intended goal of [Nam3less] Magazine is to meld divergent perspectives on a variety of subjects - fiction, music, art, film, social commentary - and simultaneously present them in combination with the best content we can muster from the genres of horror, science fiction, magical realism, slipstream, and dark fantasy.
