Greetings!
October is here and as we anticipate the cool Fall Florida weather, CFPA is gearing up for some cool things this month. First if you have not paid attention to the email blasts or your preferred email accounts, please take some time to look as we have some proposed Bylaw changes that we would like to you review and be ready to vote on at our "Bylaws Meeting". We will forward more information on the time and place through the yahoo blasts as well as personal emails. The Bylaws Committee has worked so hard to come up with these changes so please take some time and review the changes, provide us with any questions you may have and come out to vote on the amendments at the end of this month. Our Annual Review Course begins this weekend. I want to say good luck to those who are studying to take the Certification Exam. If you have not done so and are thinking about it, now is your chance. CFPA is also offering a scholarship to one member who wants to take that big step. There is also a scholarship for Advanced Certification and of course or annual scholarship for those who are continuing their education at one of our local colleges. I urge you to take advantage of this great opportunities! We will be rounding out or Support the Troops Project and if you have a family member serving in the war zone please email their information to President@cfpainc.org so we can add them to our list. This is exciting for our organization and we so look forward to this service project every year. I want to also give a shout out to Digital Legal and Orange Reporting for partnering up with us for this project. We love our patron members and truly appreciate their service within our community. We appreciate Orange Legal's sponsorship of our newsletter this month and as a supportive Patron Member of CFPA. If you wish to know more about Orange Legal, please click on the link to their web site. Have a great month! Let us hear from you! Peonca Grier, CP, FRP Certified Paralegal/Florida Registered Paralegal CFPA President - 2012 President@cfpainc.org

Digital Legal Supports CFPA's Troop Project ...
Picture it: September 19, 2012, 6:00 p.m., a CFPA Mixer at Maxine's on Shine: During the mixing and the mingling and general fun had by all, Digital Legal asks CFPA, Inc., if they may donate any proceeds they raise at the upcoming YLS Golf Tournament on September 28th to our Support the Troops effort. CFPA's response you ask....well YESSSS, of course!
Now, again picture if you will, CFPA has approximately t-minus, 9 days or 777,600 seconds or 12,960 minutes or 216 hours (give or take a nano-second) to offer any assistance we can to our wonderful Patron, Digital Legal for the YLS Golf Tournament. Enter-in, CFPA's shining star volunteers, Diana Bonilla and Jean Hinton! As some of you may or may not know, Jean Hinton has been a CFPA member for many years and is our Historian and all round craft person! The things that woman can fix with a little ribbon is amazing. Thanks to Jean, our raffle item donations were collected and artfully packaged for display at the Digital Legal Tent! Jean not only donated her skills, but one of her famous baskets as a raffle prize as well! Thank you so much Jean! Not to be outdone, Diana Bonilla graciously took her own personal time from work and volunteered to work the Digital Legal tent on September 28th as a CFPA representative. She worked in the tent through the heat just like a trooper!! We cannot thank these two ladies enough for taking their time and assisting CFPA and Digital
Legal. We also cannot thank DIGITAL LEGAL enough for the gracious offer and hard, hot work! You all ROCK!
---Marisa L. Green
It was a very hot day, but the Digital legal crew and I accomplished what we had in mind, raise money for the Troops!! I arrived at 8:00 a.m., and the fun began. We greeted each new group of golfers, offered them something to eat and drink, and then explained to them about our raffle prizes and charity. We had a game called corn hole. It
was $5 per game or $20 for five games and they would automatically get their names entered into the drawing. In addition, every time they made it in the hole, we would put their names in the drawing again. I was very impressed to see how many golfers were not interested in playing the game or entering their names in the raffle, they only wanted to contribute money to the Troops!!
Due to the heat, not as many golfers as expected participated in the event, but thanks to the generosity of those that did and Digital Legal, we were able to raise $648.00! Indeed, an amazing and worthwhile event! Thank you to each and every one who made it a success.
----Diana Bonilla
