As you may know, the NALA annual convention will be held from July 25-28, 2012 in Omaha, Nebraska. During the NALA annual meeting, allvoting members of NALA will vote for allcandidates for national office and regional director positions. The candidates and their offices are listed on NALA's website with their biographical information and qualifications for office at: http://www.nala.org/anmtnmembers.aspx. Voting will take place during the NALA Annual Convention and results will be announced during the 37th Annual Membership meeting on Friday afternoon, July 27, 2012. If you are a voting member of NALA and cannot attend the meeting this year, you may designate two NALA active members to cast your proxy vote during the meeting. One NALA member will serve as your proxy holder and the second member will serve as your alternate proxy holder. Any active member may hold your proxy with the exception of the NALA President. A "Designation of Proxy" form is required to inform NALA that another member is authorized to cast your vote. The form appeared in the January and May issues of Facts & Findings, or you may download a copy in pdf format at http://www.nala.org/Upload/file/PDF-Files/2012%20Convention/12designation-proxy-form.pdf. You may also file this form online. Go to http://www.nala.org/forms/2012-designation-of-proxy.htm for the online version. Your Designation of Proxy and Alternate Proxy form must be sent to both the NALA Secretary and the NALA Credentials Chairman in order for your proxy to be recorded. The form must be received by these officers no later than June 27, 2012. It is important for you to instruct your proxy holder how you wish your votes to be cast. An "Instructions to Proxy" form is available at: http://www.nala.org/Upload/file/PDF-Files/2012%20Convention/12instructions-to-proxy.pdf. You are welcome to designate me (Nancy L. Jordahl, CP, FRP, FCP) as your proxy or alternate proxy. Other CFPA members that are attending the convention that you may designate as your proxy or alternate proxy are: Leslie Irick, CP, FRP; Peonca Grier, CP, FRP; and Lisa Vander Weide, ACP. There are some contested races this year so your vote definitely counts. In addition to voting for candidates, NALA members will be voting on amendments to the NALA Bylaws. The NALA Board of Directors is recommending for adoption amendments to Articles 4, 6, and 11 of the Bylaws. Please review the Bylaw amendments at: http://www.nala.org/Upload/file/PDF-Files/2012%20Convention/2012bylaws.pdf. Advise your proxy and alternate proxy how you would like to vote on the proposed amendments. Please contact me at nalaliaison@cfpainc.org or contact NALA Headquarters if you have any questions!
