Curriculum: Poetry, plays, novels and other writings by British authors.
Homework: Complete daily reading assignments, study guides, vocabulary lists, and writing assignments.
Materials / Fees: Our books will cost approximately (you will be updated before the 1st day of class) $30-$40 depending on the best prices found. We will all use the same texts to provide continuity and ease of use in class. Books will be ordered at the beginning of each semester in order to spread the cost over the year.
Description: We will focus our attention on great books by authors such as Austen, Bronte, Lewis, Shakespeare, Wilde, Defoe, and Dickens. We will also include poetry from the Romantic period.
Standards: This class will be considered a "College Prep" literature course for the serious student.
Written analysis-30%, Participation in class discussion-30%, Completed study guides-30%, Vocabulary-10%.
