Course Description:

     We will learn about the amazing universe God created as we study the sun, the stars, the moon, meteorites, asteroids, comets, volcanoes on Mars, and storms on Jupiter.  We will learn about space travel and how Earth is perfectly suited for life in a way that only God could have designed.  We will get a small sense of how vast and amazing our universe is and how great our God must be.

    Along the way we will do many hands on projects such as making a hurricane in a bottle, a rocket propelled by a chemical reaction, creating our own constellation planetarium, and a miniature space station.  There are many other fun projects including some that involve making ice cream, forming craters, experimenting with dry ice, and using solar power to melt chocolate.

 

Course Standards: 

Before coming to class read the chapter or have a parent read it to you and take a brief on-line test.  Participate in class projects, presentations, and discussions.
