Curriculum: Instructor will utilize ideas from Drawing with Children, by Mona Brookes.

Homework: For each "Master Artist," the student will prepare for class by reading at least 3 paragraphs about the assigned artist.

Materials/Fees: $15.00 for markers, paint, paper, starch, and brushes.

Description: This class is designed to broaden one's appreciation of some of the "Master Artists," while creating a beautiful art piece in the style of each one.

After a brief lesson on the life and style of each "Master," the student will create a piece of artwork in the style of that "Master," using a directed draw approach based on Mona Brookes's theory of the 5 basic elements of shape, with the goal that the student can view his surroundings identifying these shapes, and thus create artwork with that foundation.

Some of the artists we'll learn about include: Paul Klee, Amadeus Modigliani, Van Gogh, Piet Modrian, Picasso, and Diego Rivera.
