Curriculum:
An assortment of phonics tools and books will be used in
developing the games,crafts and activities that we will be using. Parents
need not make any purchases.
Homework:
Some projects can be taken home to be enjoyed with Mom! Course Description: Hold your horses! Phonics is FUN? You bet it is! In our fast
paced, super creative, awe inspiring class, we will be implementing tons of activities, games, and crafts to captivate your child's attention and draw
him into the amazing world of letters, sounds and words! Not only will the
beginning reader learn the "basic" rules of phonics, but the early reader
will be inspired and challenged to learn more of the Dolch sight words.
Each class your child will experience the "fun" of phonics and words,
through a variety of crafts, such as making a phonics wheel, spelling flip
book, word family mini-books, and of course the incredible word family worm! We will play Phonics Bingo, Dolch sight words Bingo, Hop-Skip-Jump vowels and consonants, and Jump the River of blends and diagraphs, just to name a few. We will attempt to use all avenues to the brain, using crafts and activities that stimulate all the senses and make learning memorable and able to be retained!
