Curriculum: I utilize many books and resources for our labs and experiments. Some of those books are: Cool Chemistry Concoctions, Fizz, Bubble, and Flash, and Christian Kids Exploring Chemistry. You DO NOT need to purchase these books.

Homework: New vocabulary puzzle each 1-2 classes, vocabulary quiz game prep. 2 times/yr., 1 oral presentation per yr.

Materials / Fees: A $10 fee to cover repair or replacement of Mrs. Reynolds' lab goggles, lab coats, or lab materials will be collected the first day of class.

Description: Chemistry for Kids is a science enrichment class. This course is a beginning, fun, "hands-on" exposure to basic topics and vocabulary in chemistry. The vocabulary and scholastic level of this class is approximately 6th grade.  Each student must read and sign and have a parent read and sign the Chem Class Safety Rules Sheet. This is due the first day of class.

Standards: Grading is based on attendance, attitude, enthusiastic participation in class, following the safety rules, gaining facility with the chemistry vocabulary, and the oral presentation by each student on a topic of their interest in an area of chemistry.  I assign character grades.
