Course Name: Art for Beginners 4-8

Curriculum: There will be no need to purchase curriculum. The teacher will use a variety of fun and creative books like "The Basics of Drawing"(Barron's), "Drawing School"(Ian Simpson). Others will be added to the list as we progress.

Homework: Students will have additional practice to take home so they can progress in their skills(1-2 hrs).

Materials Fees: The students will occasionally receive a list of additional materials to bring to class.

Course Description: The children will begin learning to draw by looking around and observing God's amazing creation. As their ability to draw progresses, they will use colored pencils. The students will learn about materials and will receive much practice. We will even explore cartooningwhich is always a favorite of the students. This class will povide a fun learning experience and students will enjoy the process! This is a class that will encourage the student to explore their creativity. Progress will be noted as they work through the various projects.

Course Standards: The children will need to pay attention and keep focused in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The home work will have to be completed in order to progress in their skills.
