My Body by Patty Carratello as well as additional library picture books such as selections from the The Magic School Bus series.
Course Description:
Learning anatomy can be approachable for young students. This curriculum combines crafts and science for learning FUN. Each student will create a life size model of themselves in class. Then throughout the year we will cut, color and paste different organs to the model and learn about how our bodies work. The My Body curriculum
Each class session will revolve around units such as the digestive system, our senses, the heart and the nervous system, to name a few. We will enhance our hands on learning on each topic with picture books, games, drama and even some songs. Here is an example of a fun bones song:

At the end of the year each student will have a life size model of their body complete with organs that they can take home. Note: We will be skipping the unit on the reproductive organs.
