Textured Carousel
Busy Box!

Textured Carousel
About

Our Textured Carousel Busy Box is our #1 selling adaptive therapeutic device. Its popularity is based upon its versatility, simplicity and ease-of-use. The slightest touch on its six specially textured pads reward the user with a variety of sensory stimulation: vibration, three melodies, a popcorn ball popper, and lights. This product quickly became a best seller and is also on the cover of our latest catalog!
History

The Textured Carousel was originally developed for a student with visual impairments. The student's therapist wanted a therapeutic device that a person with a visual component could easily access and activate. We created a round device on a Lazy Susan that had six large textured activation plates. When activated the plates have lights, music, vibration or a combination of the three. We designed the color combination so a visually impaired individual would be able to see the different plates. The yellow base gives great contrast to the bold colorful plates. The ball popper on the top of this device encourages the user to reach out and activate the plates; it increases visual attention as well. We found that this product had broad appeal and was not just limited for use by people with visual impairments. Every child can enjoy it!
