Temporary Fosters Needed
May 9th-17th

Pam Case

Would you like to foster a pug May 9th until May 17th? Fostering a pug for a short amount of time is a great trial run if you have been thinking about fostering but are just not sure if it is the right thing for your family. If you can help, please contact Gail at homewardboundpugs@cox.net or give her a call at 405-706-1492. Thanks so much!

Pugs in the News

Here is a cute story from the Sacramento Bee in 2011

It's a bird. It's a plane. It's Otis the skydiving pug!

Otis, a ten-year-old pug hailing from Galt, Calif., made his 64th jump (tandem, of course) with his owner, Will DaSilva, on Monday afternoon, The Sacramento Bee reports.

The little guy has been jumping out of planes with DaSilva since he was just one year old, but each jump continues to excite him. "He's just like a first-time skydiver," DaSilva says in a video from The Sacramento Bee. "He's all excited about it, gets nervous at the door just like all the rest of the skydivers, and then once he gets out he's just having a ball. He's just like a dog with his head out the car window, just flapping away.

"

Happy Tails

Maverick

Just wanted to update you on Maverick. We adopted him in Sept. 2011 and he has been the best thing for us since we got our first pug!!!! We love him so much and so does Ruby, our other pug. They have so much fun together. He is such a sweet boy and he has beefed up since we got him. He was a little underweight at first, but with his regular meals of Blue Buffalo dog food, he has grown into a beautiful little guy (although he always was beautiful ). Thank you so much. He was a perfect match for us

TroPugal Puggerfest

Pam Case
That's right, it is that time of year! The time when we start preparing for Puggerfest. I know it seems early, but there is so much to do and we have to begin work now. The theme this year is A TroPugal Adventure, so get your hula costumes ready! If you have any tropical themed decorations you would be willing to donate, we would love to have them. We want to decorate the entire park!

We are also graciously accepting donations for our silent auction. Handmade items are especially popular; blankets, quilts, paintings, jewelry and ceramics get people pen jousting toward the end of the auction. Any new item will be accepted, it does not have to be pug themed, as some people purchase the items as gifts for non-pug people (though it is difficult to believe there are people out there who DON'T love pugs).

We are really looking forward to Puggerfest this year and are excited at the prospect of seeing our old friends and meeting new ones!

To donate, please contact Gail Tucker at homewardboundpugs@cox.net

Be sure and mark your calendars for September 29th and join us at Stars And Stripes Park in OKC. We can't wait to see you there!
