Homeward Bound's Director, Gail Tucker Honored by KFOR-TV 

What Gail thought was going to be a casual lunch with friends became quite a day to remember. Close friend and volunteer Shandell Nash had this to say:  

Gail Tucker, Homeward Bound's founder and major Pug wrangler/savior, was honored with KFOR-TV's "Pay it Forward" award recently.  The award honors individuals and groups in the Oklahoma City Metro area who work selflessly to benefit their community.  It includes a $400 donation from Spirit Bank and a prominent video feature on the 10 PM newscast.

Gail founded Homeward Bound Pug Rescue in 2003.  The group, with lots of help from  many committed volunteers, now places about 300 Pugs with safe and loving homes each year.  The award, sponsored by Spirit Bank, was presented to Gail at A-1 Pet Emporium on Wednesday, June 8.  A group of volunteers, friends, and, of course, lots of happy rescued Pugs were there for the surprise ceremony.

We learned that the "Pay it Forward" program currently has a backlog of 3,000 nominees for the award. HBPR is very grateful that Gail was chosen for this wonderful honor!  Thank you, Gail, for everything you do!
