Greetings!
The Use of a Thyroid Collar During Dental Radiographs Since the time that this dental practice began forty years ago we have followed the recommendaitons of the Department of Public Health and the American Dental Association for dental radiographs. Back in 1969 we used Type C film. In the mid 1970's we chaged to Type D film. Then in the early 1990's we switched to Type E film. Each of these changes was to a faster film which then allowed us to decrease our radiation exposure to our patients. In 2000 we went to an all digital process where we no longer used dental films. Digital x-rays are taken on radiographic plates and then the images are stored in the computer with digital imaging. In the last 40 years we have decreased the amount of radiation exposure to our patients by nearly 80%! continue reading for more information on dental x-rays

| YOUR GENERAL HEALTH IS IMPORTANT ! | |
|
You may think that your overall health doesn't have any relationship to your teeth. Or you may wonder why we ask you to review your Health History for any changes since your last visit into our office. Your oral health is related to the rest of your body. If you have had any joint replacements, if you have an inflammatory type of arthritis, if you have a suppressed immune system or are malnourished, if you have Type I diabetes or hemophilia, or if you have a history of prior or present malignancy you may need to take an antibiotic before any dental treatment. So when we ask you to review your Health History take it as seriously as we do. Please list all changes in your health including any surgeries, new medications, or any current medical treatment you are undergoing.
