Greetings!
ARE GOLD CAPS BETTER THAN PORCELAIN?
This seems to be a simple question that would warrant a simple answer. However, there are five types of crowns. Depending on each patient's needs and oral evaluation any of the five might be recommended. I will briefly review each of the five.
Gold Crown - In regards to its strength and longevity the gold crown is the best. The cast gold crown wears almost identically to tooth structure, casts the best, and is the strongest. The disadvantage is that the gold color is not aesthetically pleasing. Its best use is on the posterior molars. In fact, I have gold crowns on my eight molars because they wear almost identically to teeth and are the strongest. Porcelain Fused to Gold Crown - It is nearly as strong as a gold crown and has an aesthetic advantage in that the porcelain matches the shade of the tooth. Porcelain has a tendency to be opaque, so I would call the aesthetics good. The advantage is that it can be used anywhere in the mouth, depending on the indications of wear and aesthetics. The newer porcelains have better aesthetics and can be used on any tooth in the mouth.

| PAYING FOR YOUR TREATMENT | |
|
We feel that all patients deserve the very best dental care we can provide. Further, we feel that everyone benefits when definite payment arrangements are agreed upon.
For those who have dental insurance we will do our best to provide an estimate of what benefits your policy will allow, and if needed, we will submit a Predetermination to your insurance. Once we have reviewed the recommended treatment and estimate with you, we will make payment arrangements for the amount not covered by your inusurance.
We offer discounts if you pay your estimated share in full on or before your first treatment appointment: 6% by cash or check, 5% by debit card, and 3.5% by credit card. If you prefer to make payments we offer monthly payments with 1/3 down at your first appointment and 3 monthly payments on the balance. We also offer extended payments through Citi Health Card of 12 Months Interest Free, a 48 Month Budget Plan or a Revolving Credit Plan.
