 Principal Notes

 Dear Village Families,

Thank you so much for the Grand Principal Appreciation Day! I certainly felt the love and appreciation! I loved the sneak attack of the 200+ "children" on my office wall-I'm still reading the messages. Thank you so much for all the cards, gifts and special treats. I am fortunate to work with such dedicated founders, families, and staff. I am amazed how much we have accomplished in under 9 months. I would like to extend a thank you to our entire village as it would not have been possible without everyone lending a hand: founders, board members, parents, students and of course our incredibly hard working staff.

We recently had our programmatic audit visit from the Idaho Charter Schools Network. During that visit the team members had an opportunity to visit with school staff, board members, a parent focus group and student representatives from each grade. I would like to thank everyone who took time out of their day to come in and visit with the team. The programmatic audit report helps us reflect on our program and set goals for continuous improvement for the future.

Please plan to join us for an evening Registation Event on Tuesday, May 22 from 6:30-9:00 for all current families as well as our new families who will join us as we grow our village. The format will be similar to our math night event in which parents rotate through 4 information stations.  The schedule will be shared that evening with the first rotation beginning at 6:30 pm.  This is an information evening for parents only. Our goal for the evening is to communicate important information to families and collect needed paperwork for the following school year.  You will want to attend this evening to hear about our future plans for our facility and school programs.  Thank you in advance for your understanding and for securing childcare. Our future dreams include hosting childcare for events such as these, but our current site does not allow for this.

We are planning several end of the year activities that are family friendly.  Be sure to read the Save the Dates section.  I look forward to seeing you soon at these events.

8th Grade Graduation Celebration

Grades K-7 will present the 8th grade graduates with "gifts from the heart". Each class will celebrate the hard work and dedication of graduating TVCS 8th graders with a variety of "gifts". Some classes will perform songs and poems and some will present handmade gifts. You won't want to miss this end of the year Village Charter School tradition.

Time: 3:00 PM

Place: Gazebo/Playground-bring a blanket or lawn chairs for your family members. This is an event to honor our graduates, we would like younger siblings to stay with parents and not play on playground equipment. Students will be seated in their class groups for the ceremony.

Kindergarten graduation information will be communicated via Miss Coles.

Survey Update

Our survey is undergoing final edits this week and will soon be launched. It's very important for our annual report that we have a good response on our survey. The results of the survey will help us identify both our areas of strength and areas of challenge or opportunities for improvement. An incentive for reaching our response rate will be offered in conjunction with the launch of the survey. More information will follow soon.

Opportunity

Tami Moore, a TVCS parent, is looking for volunteers to assist Pearson with a research project this summer.  Your child may earn summer spending money for their particiaption if selected for the project and TVCS will also be eligible for funding.  If you are interested, please contact Tami at tmoore@moreandmoorecommunication.com or 284-0849.  Click here for the flyer.
