Dear Parents,
Welcome back! I hope you had a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday. As the weather changes, please make sure your child is dressed for outdoor activities. Our playground is supervised beginning at 7:45 AM. In extremely cold temperatures, the doors will be opened for early entry but otherwise we ask that students do not enter during morning teacher planning time. SNOW DAYS: We follow the BSD guidelines for school closure due to inclement weather. If the BSD closes school then we will also close.
TVCS teachers have been participating in ongoing math professional development. We are looking forward to a Math Education evening for our parent community after the winter break in late January. More information will be forthcoming. We hope you will join us to learn more about math education in Idaho and our Singapore Math curriculum.
I am happy to announce Mrs. Owings has accepted our offer for the grade 5 teacher position. She has a strong background in technolgy and literacy. She has experience creating differentiated lessons and did a fabulous demonstration lesson. She will begin full time on December 12. Please welcome her to our community.

Successful Food Drive
| | The Village Charter School Student Council members conducted a very successful food drive. With their encouragement we were able to surpass our school goal. We collected over 1, 100 canned food items for the Idaho Food Bank. Kindergarten was our most spirited group collecting the most per class. Way to synergize! |

Papa John's and The Village Charter School are teaming up to raise funds for our school. Thursday, December 8th, 20% of ALL orders will be DONATED back to our school.

Lottery News |

PLEASE NOTE: If your child is already enrolled at TVCS, please DO NOT request enrollment again. In February, you will be asked to complete a returning student form. Information will be sent home about this after the winter break.
As of December 1, new families may request enrollment to TVCS. The Enrollement Request form may be accessed on our school website. The open enrollment period ends at 11:59 PM on March 31, 2012. Please encourage interested families to request enrollment. Once the enrollment period closes, if there are more students requesting enrollment than there are spaces available, State Law requires that an equitable selection process, such as a lottery, be held to determine who will be enrolled. The Village Charter School will hold a lottery on Tuesday, April 10th, 2012 at 4:30 PM at the school to determine class and waiting list placement for all grade levels. |
