TeenForce Report August 2,  2010
Greetings!

Welcome to the second edition of our newsletter. It has been an exciting couple of weeks here at TeenForce as we have been preparing for an interesting marketing partnership with a new client, LikeList. You can read more about that opportunity below. We have also stepped up our marketing activites by calling and visiting local businesses, attending Chamber of Commerce events, and posting flyers on the many community boards around town.
Thank you for your continued interest in TeenForce,

-John Hogan

The LikeList marketing team wore co-branded shirts while calling on over 100 Los Gatos businesses.
Client Profile: LikeList
A word-of-mouth service to share and discover trusted local businesses.

LikeList partnered with TeenForce to create a "street team" that was responsible for promoting LikeList's online service, as well as TeenForce, on foot through downtown Los Gatos. Team members explained to both residents and businesses the benefits of using LikeList.

LikeList is a great way for local businesses to connect with their current and prospective customers. Most local businesses are already in their database, and many already have a number of "likes." We encourage business owners to claim and activate their business by clicking here. It is a free service and a great tool to grow your business through your customers' referrals.

For consumers, LikeList integrates seamlessly with Facebook, organizing your and your friends' favorite businesses and services. It is the best way to find trusted referrals from local sources. It's like word of mouth, only better.

 Jobs in our community
Local residents engage our teens

Recent job orders from Los Gatos residents have allowed our teens to develop a variety of skills. These various assignments include house-sitting, yard work, landscaping, and elder assistance. Our teens are beginning to develop skills that will allow them to gain experience and be better prepared for their futures.
Event: Farmers' Market
TeenForce promotes our service

On Sunday, July 25th TeenForce team members hosted a table at the Farmers' Market downtown to answer questions and tell our story. This was a great opportunity to expose our new business to the community. It is great that the Farmers' Market offers non-profits the chance to participate in this busy market place.
Visit the Farmers' Market Sundays between 8AM and 1PM.

About Us
A teen for every job and a job for every teen!

TeenForce is a non-profit organization developing Los Gatos and Monte Sereno youth through skills training and on-the-job work experience.

We accomplish our mission by operating a temporary employment agency exclusively for teenagers. This model makes it very convenient for local businesses and residents to hire pre-screened and eager teens for temporary and part-time assignments. We handle all the paperwork, tax filings, and insurance. All that you need to do is provide the opportunity!

We are located at 101 Church Street, Suite 19 in Los Gatos. We are open Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM.
Around the Office: Our Current Status

We have currently placed 15 teens in jobs and we are working on filling five more job orders. Job placements have allowed our teens to learn a variety of skills including office tasks, retail sales, yard work, elder assistance, and house sitting. We are working on marketing to businesses to bring in more job orders and we have about 70 teens in our candidate pipeline. Need help with odd jobs around the house or yard? Looking for talented young people to work for you? Want to make an appointment? Call us at 408.827-3078 or visit us online at www.teenforce.org.
