GOVERNOR'S CORNER |
The Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee is asking all Rotary Clubs to consider sending just $50 to help support our fundraising efforts for the 33rd consecutive float entry by Rotary. The float is funded by contributions from Rotarians and friends in the US and Canada. The float is NOT a project of Rotary International and NO RI funds are used. In these economic times, the float is currently underfunded, and as the HOST DISTRICT 5300, I am asking the clubs to step in with just $50. Please make your contributions online at www.rotaryfloat.org. Thank You! |

MEMBERSHIP MINUTE |
Our District's clubs have great ideas for membership and retention. Here is one from Pomona Rotary: They have divided their membership into teams who compete with one another to bring in potential members and guests. The competition lasts for 3 months; the scorecard is prominently displayed and updated each week. Winning team members receive movie tickets. You could select any commodity your members would enjoy. Thank you, Rotary Club of Pomona! |
THE WEST SAN GABRIEL VALLEY NEW GENERATIONS ROTARY CLUB NEEDS YOUR HELP. |
The Rotary Club of Alhambra is working to establish a new club in the area: The West San Gabriel Valley New Generations Rotary Club. The new club welcomes interested parties of all ages as they need to be at the magic number of 25 to become a club. Pasadena, South Pasadena, Monterey Park, San Gabriel, Temple City, Rosemead, El Monte - are you out there? If you have contacted local business persons who cannot make your daytime meeting, perhaps they can make it at 6pm. We need the help of our neighboring clubs to promote this opportunity. Join us.
